Scotland based family and couples photography focused on connection and atmosphere

Whether youโ€™re newly engaged or looking to capture your family, itโ€™s my job to make sure you feel comfortable and have an experience that feels genuine, unforced.

Choosing a photographer is a personal decision as being in front of the camera can feel like a lot. My approach to photography is centred around you, your personality and comfort. The images I deliver will feel meaningful and reflect who you are.

Nice to meet you

A woman with dark, curly hair smiling and wearing sunglasses, a brown coat, black scarf, and light-colored sweater standing on a beach with buildings and hills in the background.

Hey, thanks for being here! I am Anete, a 31 year old lifestyle portrait photographer based in Kinross, Scotland offering natural and relaxed family, newborn, motherhood and couples photography across Perthshire, Fife, Central Scotland, Highlands and beyond.

I am a big fan of understated, casual photography when it comes to people, I donโ€™t believe in stiff posing and stressful shoots. Weโ€™ll choose a location that suits your vibe, weโ€™ll get comfortable, take our time and capture keepsakes that feel like you.

Whether itโ€™s those family photos youโ€™re somehow never in, but would like to be or couples / engagement photos that actually show the love and fun between youโ€ฆ Iโ€™m there to turn it into something you can see, share and display proudly in your favourite frame.

a quieter, more intentional approach for people who want something that feels real

If youโ€™re drawn to natural images and donโ€™t want the experience to feel staged or uncomfortable, I get it.

I donโ€™t photograph models, I photograph people who arenโ€™t used to being in front of a camera but want something that feels easy, calm, and true to them.

Thereโ€™s no pressure to perform, I will guide you gently throughout, but follow your pace. Mostly you will be interacting with each other and I will leave space for things to unfold naturally, especially when it comes to young children. This way your photos will reflect how you actually are together, not how you think you should be.

The focus isnโ€™t on perfect smiles or posed moments, but on subtle connection, movement, and the in-between

Frequently Asked Questions

  • I am based in Scotland and photograph families and couples in Fife, Perth and Kinross and across Central Scotland. I am also open to travel anywhere in Scotland, UK or even globally whether that is the coast, countryside or somewhere meaningful to you. I prefer photographing outdoors, especially in nature but at home shoots can also be so so special.

  • Yes, I photograph both couples and families across Scotland. Whether you are celebrating a new chapter or simply want to capture your everyday connection, the approach remains the same. Relaxed, natural and true to you :)

  • Yes, I travel across Scotland for family and couples sessions. Some of my favourite sessions take place in quiet, beautiful locations that feel personal to you. Travel outside my local area will include a fee depending on distance.

  • My sessions are relaxed, unposed and built around real connection. There is no pressure to perform or stand a certain way. I gently guide you when needed, but mostly I allow space for natural moments to unfold so your images feel honest, calm and full of life.

  • I recommend booking a few weeks or in advance. Weekend and School holiday dates tend to book first.

  • Of course the Highlands and Islands are a no brainer, Glencoe, Isle of Skye etc. But there are so many beautiful locations across Fife and Perth and Kinross that are so often overlooked, from quiet woodland and open fields to coastal spots. I help you choose a location that suits your family and the kind of images you are drawn to, whether that is wild and open or soft and intimate.

  • Outdoor sessions allow space, movement and natural light which all help create images that feel more real and less staged. Scotland offers some of the most beautiful backdrops, from Fifeโ€™s coastline to the landscapes of Perthshire, making every session unique.

  • Scotlandโ€™s weather can be unpredictable, but it often adds to the atmosphere in the most beautiful way. Light cloud, wind or even light rain can create incredible images. If conditions are truly unsuitable, we will simply reschedule to a better day.

  • I currently only offer shorter sessions 30-60mins as I build my portfolio, but if you have something else in mind (multiple locations, outfit changes etc. donโ€™t hesitate to be in touch, I am very open to longer shoots)

  • You will receive your gallery within a 1-2 weeks of your session. I carefully edit each image to reflect the natural tones and feeling of the moment, so nothing feels rushed.

You will receive a link to a private gallery where you can download your images as well as purchase any prints should you wish to. I will post a complementary keepsake instax square print from your session as a thank you for trusting me with taking your photos.

  • At the moment I charge a fixed fee for my portfolio building offer with an additional charge for travel outside my local area. Please see my offer page for details.

I will be moving to a model that reflects the time and complexity of a shoot soon.

  • Most people do at first. Within a few minutes, that feeling usually fades as the session becomes more like time spent together rather than a photoshoot. My approach is gentle and unobtrusive so you can relax into it.

  • Absolutely. Dogs are always welcome and often bring an extra layer of personality and joy to your session.

I would suggest giving them a wee walk before the shoot to get the zoomies and super high energy out of the system.

  • Children do not need to behave perfectly. I expect movement, emotion and personality. Some of the most meaningful images come from those in between moments. My sessions are designed to feel easy and child led so everyone can relax.

  • I will send some prep info before out shoot, but honestly itโ€™s all in the mindset and calmness. Make sure youโ€™ve picked your outfits the night before and allowed yourself time to calmly get ready, bring snacks and comfort items for the kids. Make sure youโ€™re not coming on an empty stomach and think of it as a date or playdate for families with kids. It will be fun and your partner or children will thank you one day for the day and the images captured.
