Thanks for booking! I can’t wait to meet you.

Here’s all you need to know ahead of the shoot

  • The day or so before I will send you a reminder with the time and date and a meeting place, but you can always reach out directly if you have any questions :)

  • Great! We won’t be doing any stiff posing :) I will direct you and who you’re with when needed, and capture the natural interactions. That’s when we all look best anyway. The session will be purpose led, but also relaxed and fun.

  • Whilst it’s not super important, clothing can really add or take away from a great photo. I would say, best to go with a levelled up version of something comfy and location appropriate and ensure it ‘goes’ with what the rest of the people in the shoot will wear (not necessarily matching, just so its cohesive and there isn’t one person that stands out more)

Avoid super tight everything unless that’s what you’re most confident in: looser clothing will allow for more movement and appear more effortless.

Unless loud, heavy multicoloured prints / slogans are a core personal style thing, try go for solid colours that are less distracting and timeless in photos.

Speaking of colours, bright solid colours can look fantastic in photos and add a bit of a nostalgic feel, even if it’s a beanie for one and wellies for another, but I suggest everyone has a bright item to balance it out. Muted tones always work well too.

If you don’t want to wear a coat or jacket, make sure you get some thermals and layers underneath.

I suggest to take a look at Pinterest for inspiration of people who have shot photos in similar locations to where we will shoot and see what resonates with you. I am also happy to chat and provide ideas / feedback for what you have planned.

Oh and empty pockets please (men are usually the culprits with wallets and phones sticking out :D )

  • A good mindset and maybe a neutral umbrella, we live in Scotland after all. I will try to remember to bring an umbrella too :)

  • Before the shoot when you’re at home, take your time. Try have clothing etc ready the night before and leave time to get your hair and make-up just how you like it and feel best in. Ensure there’s time for food before you come and bring a small snack, just in case :)

  • Tell them a friend is coming to play and bringing a camera. No need for the pressure of telling them there’s a whole photoshoot. They’ll just be doing their kid thing anyway :)

Feel absolutely free to bring a toy (maybe leave the super ‘ugly’ one at home though… we all know the one :D) or a comfort item. If we’re going to a beach a bucket and a spade might be fun, for example?

  • We’ll say our goodbyes and I will go home and edit. Once that is done I will send you a secure link to view and download your photos or purchase any prints if you wish.

Currently my turnaround time is 1-2 weeks unless I specify otherwise, but I’ll try get it done asap :)

You can then use the images however you wish but please do tag me / credit me wherever possible.
